Yes :-) Sara's review (Jan 12th 2007)
My “yes” recommendations extends mostly to the South Hill location. The service at both the Northside and Valley locations has always been exceptionally slow and while the food was still good, I’d rather just drive to the South Hill where I know I’m not going to wait forever to eat.
However, I’ve never had a bad tasting meal at any of the locations. All of the noodle dishes – especially the drunken noodles- are tasty, the tea is good, and I really like the mango smoothies made with soy milk. My only complaint is they are just a touch more expensive than Linnie’s. Still, it’s a place worth checking out.

Although I have never been to the South Hill Location, I do agree the north side location is slow. I think it is worth the wait however. The server on Sunday is really nice and helpful. He’s better than some of the slower staff.
The swimming rama is great. It features peanut sauce and chicken atop a bed of spinach. Yum! The gai pad phed it great too. It has a lot of great crispy vegetables. I like four stars entrees at Thai Bamboo. They are not too hot.
Panang is good there and so is massamun. For appetizers have the coconut prawns or the crab wontons/rangoon. Delish!
Get enough to take home for lunch the next day.

To combat the slowness, call and order food to go. They will have it ready usually in 15 minutes. And it seems like the portions are larger. Take it home to enjoy with your favorite movie. Works every time.

Valley was our first Thai experience when we moved to Spokane 7 yrs ago – it was their grand opening and first restaurant. We loved it and were regulars there. Food and service were excellent. Tried fresh rolls we ordered to-go by accident for lunch one day and fell in love with those. (Was expecting spring rolls.) North proved to be predictably delicious after a shopping trip at the mall one night. South Hill is closest for us and we’ve enjoyed the same consistent quality there although the prices are not very competitive with the other Thai places in town. We’ve tried 8 other Thai places to search for the best one and feel that each holds their own in different ways (1st, Linnies, Riverview, Grill, Kitchen, Bangkok, Sripresert, Sala). Bamboo would be a close 2nd or 3rd if we HAD to choose a fave. Havent tried the legendary Thai place on sunset hill yet.
Only go for Thai food when we’re too tired to make it ourselves, lately. Cooking Thai food really can be very time consuming!
Recently tried the CDA location during a business lunch – its obvious that they’re still working out the kinks of teaching Thai cooking and hair-free techniques (bummer)... but the ambiance is beautiful with the stars and mural over head. Saw Tom Burgess (the owner) that day – he looks WEARY for good reason, I’m sure. Overall I would recommend Bamboo if you’re looking for a place to call ‘your’ Thai restaurant.
No :-( Eric's review (Oct 20th 2008)
I’m not a huge Thai fan. I think it’s OK, but I just don’t eat it often.
I went here for a friend’s birthday dinner. Ordered pad thai. Smelt like dog food and I’m not even kidding. It tasted “OK” but for gods sake, how are you supposed to eat something that smells like it came from the rendering plant?
Side note: If you are going to make mention of a restaurants food smelling like Kibbles N Bits, don’t do it when the server is within ear shot. That’s what jerk offs do. For what it’s worth, I’m sorry.
