Good Filipino food. Service was a little interesting. You order at the counter, but nobody even acknowledged I was there for a good 5 minutes…and then they tried to convince me to not order what I wanted because it would take a long time (it was only abou 7 pm, not like they were about to close and they weren’t really busy) but I convinced the cook that was what I really wanted and the wait was certainly worth it! I started with a plate of Lumpia- small meaty eggrolls which were plentiful (5 of them) but I admit to liking my future mother in law’s a little more. Then came my main course- the whole grilled tilapia which came with a side of fresh stir fried veggies, which were perfectly crisp and a plate of steamed white rice. Basically it was two big plates of food, which i was more than happy to enjoy last night at the restaurant and will enjoy tonight for dinner at home. The fish was really tasty. very moist and flavored with some onions near the head but the fish did not just taste like onions. It came with a soy/vinegar sauce which complimented the fish very nicely. And the total for all of that was only $11 and some change, i thought it was a bargain. I saw that they also have breakfast on the menu. I am looking forward to taking my fiance there when he comes to town so he can compare it to his Mom’s cooking. I personally refuse to answer which one is better. I really like them both. If you want a taste of the Philippines, literally and figuratively, check it out.
