I think Ichiban is one of the top sushi places in Spokane, only second to Sushi.com. I go there at least once or twice a week and really love the food and atmosphere there. Plus, anyone I’ve ever taken there have loved it as well.

I’ve been to Ichiban and I was surprised I liked it. Maybe not my first choice, but at the end of the day it was good.

I went to Ichiban for some drinks with friends. The place was dead, but the bartender was more interested in flirting with his patrons rather than serving us. After about 10 minutes of waiting we just left. . .I was interested in trying their sushi on a later occasion, but I won’t be returning again after that experience.

The only good thing about this place was when the staff failed to notice the Cinemax late night porn that was playing on the t.v. Other than that, their food was the worst sushi ever “created”... if they even make it themselves.

This is not my first choice for sushi (Sushi.com and Raw are my first choices), but it was still good. The seaweed salad was fabulous.

This place is under new ownership as of September of 2008. I believe it is the same person who owns Nhuy Rooster on 2nd ave downtown and Teryaki House in the Spokane valley. He is working on getting their liquor license back this week and he has some of the finest sushi chefs in Spokane. Please give this place a chance if you have tried it in the past, the new owner seems to be working hard to improve any of the problems in the past. I really like the easy access parking, quick friendly service, quality sushi and other food. They also have a nightclub but I am not sure if it is running right now, probably will be back as soon as liquor license is acquired.
