great great spot – martinis and lots of good beer, plus pita pit food delivered from right next door. also, an outdoor patio that’s real fun

A casual, nice spot. Decent drinks, good but not expansive beer selection. The roll-up doors and industrial decor make me feel quite the hipster. The Pita Pit seems to draw an unusually attractive crowd for this part of town. Though the joint is semi-metallic, I’m hoping for cozy come winter.
Perhaps this is what a lounge has become. OK.

So after a long day at work I decided to dive into Tonicx and grab a margarita with my wife.
When we walked in the door there was a group of about 10 people hovering at the bar. They turned and looked at my wife and I like we were aliens. It was immediately obvious this was a group of regulars and/or the employees friend. Very, very awkward for a new customer.
After we were able to get some response from the guy behind the bar, we were seated. It was beautiful out so we opted to sit on the patio. I was excited to just relax, have a margarita or two and soak up the sunshine.
We were given menus when we sat down and told by the 1 employee working that he’d be right back.
Tick, tock, tick, tock…10 minutes, no return. No water. No orders taken. Nothing.
Tick, tock, tick, tock…25 minutes later we decide fuck it, this is BS. As we walk to the car by way of the patio exit we notice the guy is just sitting at the bar bull shitting with his friends. I should have seen this coming.
Very clique-y, more like a trip back in time to high school than a fine place to have a drink. Whats the deal with customer service these days? Do I have to BEG you to take my $40?
I’d like to add that we were the only other customers other than the group of giggly school girls and boys at the bar. How hard is it to pay attention to your only customers?
This type of mistake only happens once. I never return to an establishment that treats new patrons like garbage.
