My wife and I have been wanting to go and try the Natural Start bakery for a while and we finally got in there this morning. It’s my new favorite. My daily shop is The Scoop for the best drip coffee (Bumper Crop)... But I will be making special trips to the Natural Start bakery. It’s exactly what you want in a bakery: yummy, home-cooked, healthy food. They go out of their way to source local and organic ingredients and products. The vegan morning glory muffin was the bomb. I also had their Shepard’s pie. My wife had a cookie and quiche. It was all fantastic. They also have a good out back picnic table deal going—great if you are cycling and don’t have a lock. They’re just off the Centennial Trial too.

i stopped in for coffee only, and appreciated the fact that they were prompt and got my coffee right without having to tweak it. pastry looked good but trying to watch my ever increasing waistline i had to decline, may have to fall off the wagon tho after the prior reviews.

Just because you use fresh, natural organic ingredients, shop at overpriced hippie grocery stores, and scour the farmer’s market for seasonal products etc. etc. does NOT MAKE YOU A GOOD COOK. Reheated vegetarian shepard’s pie with no flavor, lumpy texture and half cold is not good. Stick with the coffee.

The coffee is great – they nailed my last mocha. The scones are fantastic, the empanadas are super, and I dare say their muffins are very good. Never a complaint with this place. Just great!
