No :-( T. Collette's review (Sep 16th 2006)

I realize I am biased growing up in the Bay Area, but that also gives me an edge for what tastes good and what doesn’t. I’d say the food here is definitely below average. The salsa is good and spicy, the rice and beans were good, but the tamale – egads. Swimming in a strange thick brown sauce, and though I ordered beef, I got chicken – which the waitress actually argued with me about saying that their beef happens to be white and taste like chicken(?!)... The chicken taco was OK, pretty flavorless though stuffed to the brim with meat. The Chile Relleno was atrocious and just disgusting. It had a fried egg wrapped around it instead of the usual battered/fried coating. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and will keep searching for really good Mexican food.

Yes :-) SpoVegas's review (Feb 8th 2007)

I’ve loved Rancho Viejo from way back in the day. The arroz con pollo is some of the best in Spokane, with a nice bed of rice, chicken, and plenty of cheese and mushrooms. In the summer their guacamole is good to passable and the margaritas are just fine.
