David’s has been named Spokane’s best pizza place on pretty much every poll ever by the free street papers in the area. For a good reason too, as the New York-style pies and strombolis are out of this world. Take-out might be preferable as there is limited seating capacity and the Gonzaga campus location ensures high traffic.
Davids is pretty good pizza, I had the Thai Chicken pizza and it was quite good. prices were ok
Yesterday afternoon we were visiting family up in the Gonzaga area. Afternoon turned into evening and we were getting hungry. We decided to try David’s Pizza. I usually eat at Bennidito’s because it’s closer to my home and I really like it. I think David’s and Bennidito’s were once somehow related.
I am not a big beer drinker, I like it, but I usually prefer wine. I was looking forward to The Greek pizza and a glass of red wine.
I went up to the counter to order our drinks while we looked over the menu. Guess what, no wine, only beer. What’s up with that!!! I was shocked. Why wouldn’t a pizza joint serve wine? Isn’t it called a beer and wine license? Maybe college kids just drink beer, but what about alumni and adults?
We decided on half Greek and half Da Vinci. So we drank our beer while we waited for our pizza to arrive. It arrived tasty and hot with paper plates to eat on. I don’t care for paper plates especially the cheap white thin ones we were given.
David’s is probably the worst pizza joint I’ve been in for awhile. Soggy, cold, and takes forever!!! Pete’s Pizza or Bennedito’s are much better choices.
First off, I have a problem. I always order a DaVinci Stromboli substitute sun dried tomatoes and add chicken. It’s good and I mean really good. Usually hot enough to blister my gums. I have never had a bad experience there and consider myself to be a “heavy user”.
Great place to catch the Zags games on the in-house televisions. A must-do for Zags fans without cable.
Mark holds his food to a high standard and will go out of his way to give a good experience. If there is a problem (the restaurant can be extremely busy at times) he is quick to make things right. On top of that, a wide variety of foods from sandwiches to stromboli, calzone and pies, and very tasty ingredients keep my wife and I coming back.
Keep up the good work!

David’s is the best pizza in all of Spokane, hands down. The prices are reasonable, wait times are merely ok. The thing that makes David’s awesome is the taste! The pizza is absolutely delicious. The warm and tangy tomato sauce is my favorite. As an added bonus, the staff there has some pretty cool characters that work behind the counter. David’s is the greatest.
David’s is the best pizza that I have ever eaten. I have been to a lot of pizza joints around the country and have not found one that I enjoy more then right on the edge of Gonzaga’s campus. I graduated from Gonzaga some time ago, and every time I return for alumni events I make sure to stop at my favorite pizza place to dine on the famous DaVinci pizza. David’s can get busy, but the personality of the people behind the counter, and their great service make up for the wait. Thank you David’s for always providing such a great experience.
Great pizza. That’s the important part. Poor kitchen layout resulting in slow service, especially when ordering a salad too. But that’s not really very important since it’s some of the best pizza in town. Addictive.
Decent service. Yes, you’ll have to wait, but you always had to wait at a real pizza joint. Good size pies, well equipped. The price makes your eyebrows go up a bit since you’re used to big chain prices, but take it easy, pay the money, the few dollars you spend will be forgotten in your first piece.
David’s may have been resting on their laurels a while. I’ve traveled recently and had great thin crusts with fabulous toppings, so I suspect that in the great universe, what has gone around will be around again. I’d hope they’d lead in this, but maybe not.
It ain’t the best you ever had, but still, in all, a singular and authentic ‘za experience that’ll remind you why pizza became popular in the first place.
I tried the Stromboli for lunch and ALMOST finished it. The cook was proud of it when I was served and rightly so. It was worth the 40 minute wait. I had mine with sausage, roast garlic, mozz and ricotta. What made it was the crust, which was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and prevented the melty mess inside from spilling out when you picked up a piece. Spendy on the surface but cheap for one of these made to order. The filling tasted very fresh.
I have been to David’s many times over the years and have never been disappointed with either the service or the food. The sandwiches are well worth checking out as are the strombolis. Of course the pizza is the main reason most folks hit this spot, and they have never come up short in my experience. The selection of beers is also great with something for every taste.
David’s catered my wedding. Yes, you read that correctly. And it was the best decision I’ve made other than marrying my husband! People a year later are still coming up to me telling me how delicious the pizza was and how comfortable they felt. The service and communication were perfect leading up to the big day and the price couldn’t have made us happier. And you can’t beat a big, red fire engine pulling up and serving pizza to all of your guests!! They definitley know how to please a crowd.
