Using the phrase “generic” to describe Twigs’s South Hill location would probably be accurate, at least if you were referring to its Southern California-like architecture. Placed in a stucco sided strip mall, its outdoor seating even has a view over a man made pond which feels a whole lot more like Temecula than Spokane.

Twigs

Twigs’s food, luckily, is anything but mall-like, and I would say that their white truffle prosciutto pie is one of the area’s criminally overlooked pizzas. With crispy thin crust and fresh meat and cheese, it is not a million miles away from Ferrante’s in both style and quality, a deal which is further sweetened by the $9.95 price point. Enjoying it on a mild Sunday afternoon with a glass of lemonade even made me question if the California strip mall culture necessarily had to be a bad thing.

Note that Twigs’s other two locations have slightly different menus. I usually go with the buffalo chicken wrap on my visits to River Park Square. It has a bit of kick to it, though it is not like it will going to burn your mouth out (the wrap that is, not the mall,) and it is a good alternative to Panda Express and Subway.

Twigs delivers surprisingly upscale food for having locations in both strip malls and mall food courts. Make sure to check out one of their locations around town.

Yes :-) Anne Laflamme's review (Aug 5th 2006)

In the interest of serving Dine and Dish, off we went to the new Twigs, on Regal, to eat on the patio. We’d eaten inside before and find it to be a good local place to get casual food. I have had one bad meal there, but there was a crowd of thirty at the tables next to us, so we gave the kitchen the benefit of the doubt on that one. Really, how else can you explain them messing up even the rice in a stir fry dish?? (The other time I had the stir fry, it was GREAT, so don’t skip it on my account.)

What do we like about Twigs at Regal? In addition to the food, we find the staff to be courteous, friendly and efficient. And, for alfresco dining, their patio furniture is really comfortable. So comfy, in fact, that we found out where they bought it and just bought some for our deck!

On the negative side, their beenr selection wasn’t anything to get excited about, and parking is sometimes a little tight (but not impossible.)

I love the fries at Twigs. I love the veggie salads I get there, very very good and fresh, Their house dressing wow it’s great stuff. :)

I’m a fan of the northside Twigs (on Nevada), where the pepper salmon is one of the best entrees I’ve ever had. ‘m not much for martinis, and if I were I would try to find one that costs less than $9 (yikes), so don’t count on me for advice re: the bar. But I’m big on good food, and everything I’ve had at the northside Twigs has been delicious. It’s not cheap, but the portions are generous, and they’ll split an entree for an extra $1.50. The servers are great, the atmosphere is nice, and the food is primo.

First time to Twigs at Wandermere. Nice atmosphere but a little loud for us. Had the Seafood special (sturgeon) was wonderful and so was Kahlua Pork san. Good portions and great service. We will go back again!!

We visited the new Twigs at Wandermere last Saturday night. The service was horrible and the food wasn’t much better. We were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because they just opened but then our bill came and we realized how much we paid for a really bad experience. The hostess knew the people sitting next to us and she was eating off their plate. Our food was delivered to the wrong table and we watched them pick it up and deliver it to us. Not cool! We won’t be back. My advice, don’t open a new restaurant unless you are ready!

Twigs, like many of Spokane’s restaurants suffer greatly from lack of consistency. We started going to twigs on Nevada and at first liked it, but then the food went downhill so we left, then had a business dinner at the south hill location and was impressed again, went back and had the exact opposite experience.

We then decided to try the new Wandemere location and that was a disaster. The designer should be shot, parking was abysmal, the restaurant looked modern but had no sound absorption material of any type. It was loud, so loud we had to yell our order to the server. It reminded me of eating in night club.

We had a cocktail and was never offered any else to drink, the appetizer took almost 25 minutes to come and then as it was placed on our table another server showed up and placed our entrees on the table. So we were sitting with a app, and two entrees, but never got a salad that we had also ordered. Interestingly enough the server showed back up and said “wow, you got your entrees already do you want anything else.”

So service was bad, the environment was horrible and the food was below average. It will be a long time before we return to Twigs, too bad, it could be a good concept.

Recently i went to Twigs located in Riverpark square. My sandwich was terrible. It was all bread and the bread was dry for that matter. I ate the chicken out of the sandwich and left the rest. It was obvious that I wasn’t satisfied with my food but the server didn’t seem to notice. This place is totally overrated, and overpriced! I won’t be back.

Yes :-) barman's review (Sep 26th 2008)

Excellent, hardworking service. Pretty decent drinks. Expensive.

Maybe I’m just too pedestrian for such a show bar, maybe I just want a drink, some quiet, something to eat. Appetizers at 12 bucks plus, call drinks in double digits….

Yeah, it’s classy, lots of attractive people in attractive places. Baby, the market just crashed and I lost big time. Value is what I’m looking for, and it’s really not here.

And you know, I’ll tip. Don’t put the gratuity on my check. I understand that there’s a certain amount of cheap dopes in this town that wouldn’t give a tip if they were lepers. I don’t know what to do about that.

Back to the restaurant. Here’s the deal. Go here, you’ll get a good drink, something pretty good to eat, and dandy service, in an atmosphere that is as urbane as you’re likely to get in this place. Understand you’ll pay for it. A lot of what you’re paying for is design. If that’s your deal, cool. I’ll be down the street in a dive.

LOUD! Hard to have a conversation here. Food was not bad but nothing special. (I hate it when greens are used as a garnish and they are wilted and brown) Martinis are very good.

Yes :-) Dan the Man's review (Nov 9th 2008)

I want to go on record that Twi’s breafast on the weekends only :(.... Is the bestin Spokane, I dare anyone to try their Twig’s Benedict and walk away happy and full. The little piece of Strudel is also a great touch. The only beef I have is sometimes the service is slow. What happened to those great waitresses they opened with? Note to management. Keep your employees happy and they will keep the customers coming back!
