Yes :-) Remi's review (Aug 7th 2005)

What, a review of a franchise place? Actually, the Pita Pit’s American headquarter is apparently in Coeur d’Alene, so it seems fitting to include them here. That, and they’re good. Fast-food-y, sure, but Pita Pit is a fresh and tasty alternative to something like Subway.

I went with the chicken caesar wrap, which was put together assembly line style like most sub shops do these days. This concept is good in most aspects, and you end up with a customized wrap, but the way it was executed left something to be desired. See, there are two assembly lines in the Pita Pit, both of which kind of mesh together, and there are no indications which one you’re supposed to go to. Rule of thumb seems to be that you pick the shortest – not closest – one, as they both do the same thing. This created some initial confusion, and might be a turn-off for anybody who picks fast-food places for convenience.

The end result was quite good though. Fresh salad (as opposed to Subway’s limp greens) with a decent dressing and freshly grilled chicken in a tasty pita wrap made for a good eat which didn’t feel too generic. I was also impressed with the interiors of the place; franchises tend to all look a little bland and corporate, but Pita Pit retained the classic look of the old brick building.

Recommended for a quick and fresh eat, as long as you don’t mind the confusing layout of the counters.

The food is always good, but you sort of roll the dice with service. Last time I was at the CdA location, they had to be reminded several times over who had what, and no one was really being helped in any particular order. However, once we finally received our food, we really liked it. The Missoula location is good as well.

I love the Pita Pit. I love healthy food, and I can always find something healthy there. It’s a really nice change to feel good about something you’re eating that isn’t a sub sandwich.

I also like that they are Subway-style, so you can see the pita made and each employee wears gloves while putting them together.

I highly recommend the Sharp location. It’s always a treat. :)

I’ve been to the Pita Pit by Gonzaga a couple of times now, and have yet to be disappointed. The different chicken pitas I’ve had there have both been flavorful (especially the Greek chicken), and I like the sauces. My only complaint is paying before they make it. I’m usually not comfortable with that concept.

I saw a sign in front advertising breakfast pitas. That could be an adventure.

I love this place. I usually go to the Hayden loacation since it’s next to where I get my hair done. My favorite is the Gyros with tzatziki sauce and feta cheese. Whatever you get, choose the white rather than wheat pita as the white is much more pliable and doesn’t fall apart like the wheat. I do wish they’d describe the sandwiches (like chicken souvlaki and a few others that aren’t obvious).

I used to like the food. But lately I have had to skip out on some of the veggies, since they have been welted and slimy. I wish that their employees would pay attention to that kind of stuff and throw it out instead of trying to pass it off as normal.

My boyfriend and I are both vegans and for awhile thought Pita Pit was great. (We’ve only gone to the one in the GU Distric.) It seemed to be a healthy vegan friendly option, until the last time we went and they put meat on my boyfriend’s pita. He asked them to remake it and they chose to pick it out instead (a big veggie no-no) and then make fun of him for not eating meat. We really liked the food- but the service is terrible. he management should screen their employees a little better.

Yes :-) Ashley's review (May 8th 2008)

I love pita pit. Never had a bad pita. My favorite is the chicken teriyaki with feta cheese. Customer service on the other hand has much room for improvement.

No :-( Melissa's review (Jun 7th 2008)

The staff is extremely unprofessional. It seems like a bunch of college kids who get drunk all the time run the place. When I go in there is not only offensive music played very loudly, but the pitas are terribly overstuffed, soggy and difficult to eat.
