Despite its name, Sonic Burritos isn’t so much about burritos as it is about wraps. Not Mexican style burritos at any rate, you will most likely be disappointed if you go there expecting that. Go in for a quick tasty meal, however, and you will most likely leave a happy person.

Located just north of the Gonzaga campus on Hamilton, Sonic Burritos serves up wraps in your choice of six different tortillas. You can customize your own burrito or order one of the featured menu items. Even though I’m not usually a fan of Thai-ing everything up (as seems to be the norm this day,) I went with the Thai Burrito with chicken as I was craving some spicy peanut sauce. This turned out to be a good and tasty choice, although it was a bit on the big side. The 12” tortilla probably should have tipped me off on that though; this is definitely a meal that can hold you through the day. And for $6.25? You can’t beat the price.

Other choices include Fish, Ragin’ Cajun, Jamaican Jerk, and Mediterranean, all of which have the ingredients you would expect.

Make sure to give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading there during the lunch rush. The place is usually packed with students and near-by workers at that time. For a good reason too—Sonic Burritos makes one mean wrap.

A good hearty burrito. Nice relaxed atmosphere and refill-it-yourself-sodas served in glass glasses. I like this place!

The Deep Dish Quesadillas are the single best food item in Spokane. Flat version of the burrito with all the ingredients and a top, then crisped up in a little pizza oven. Served with sour cream and their extra super tasty hot sauce its a treat. I get the Tomato Basil tortilla with rice, black beans, steak, cheddar jack cheese, all vegetables except mushrooms and cucumbers. I need one right now just thinking about it.

The three times I’ve been to Iconic it’s been very disappointing. My friends and I keep going back, hoping that we will discover something we like – but it all tastes equally bland. Not worth the money for sub-par fast food.

I completely agree with Jake’s review. I’ve been to Ionic about three times, myself, usually at the request of friends and the food has been bland every time. Too bad too because it is so convenient for Gonzaga students.

I went with the Bulldog Burrito and enjoyed it. A ton of food for the price and tasted as good if not better than all of the chain pseudo-hippie burrito joints. In general I don’t get misty eyed over hippie burritos but every once in awhile they hit the spot when I’m in need of a fast and hearty lunch. I suspect I’ll be back to try one of those cosmic quesos, maaan’..
