Yes :-) Remi's review (Nov 30th 2005)

Classic American diner food at Nhuy Rooster Grill.
A mix between laziness and curiosity has led us to try Nhuy Rooster Grill twice. Proximity is in itself always an important aspect for the Remster, but while eating what could only be described as a traditional American breakfast I noticed that they also serve teriyaki bowls. This made me kind of curious. Grabbing a burger and some teriyaki at Orange King in the U-District in Seattle is one of life’s simple little pleasures, and I was hoping to experience something similar here in Spokane.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. The actual breakfast was good, if not spectacular. My Swiss mushroom omelet came as one would and should expect it to; not too greasy, well stuffed, and with a couple of slices of Swiss cheese on top. Simple and good. The hash-browns might have left a little to be desired, as there wasn’t much flavor to be found there. Overall it was a decent breakfast though, and what do you know, you also get a slice of orange on the side. How very fancy!
As for the burger and the teriyaki bowl… The burger wasn’t bad in an average diner sort of way. The real let-down was the teriyaki, which was just chicken and rice hastily topped with what just tasted like soy sauce. In other words, not the Orange King experience I had hoped for.
Nhuy Rooster Grill is worth a stop for breakfast if you’re in the general vicinity of 2nd Ave. The omelet I had was just fine. I’m not so sure that it’s a place I would recommend for lunch or dinner though.

I think that Nhuy Rooster Grill is a good place for dinner and lunch. The cook is very good at what he does and the waiter and waitresses are nice and kind…so I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that is hungry or in the vicinity of 2nd Avenue.

Oh god!
I just got back from the Nhuy Rooster Grill and had a bad experience. We were there about a half an hour during rush hour and we were the only people there, which usually isn’t a good sign. Still, I expected to have at least a half decent meal.
So my girlfriend ordered the French Dip and I order a Turkey Club. When I got my sandwich there was only one slim slice of turkey, and a ton of onions. My girlfriend made out even worse. Her sandwich was very small, only one piece of cheese was on her sandwich (it covered only half the sandwich), there was hardly any meat, and spots of the beard were hard as a rock.
Neither of us could eat more than a few bites of our sandwiches and we ended up just eating the fries and then leaving.
On a scale of one to ten I give them a 2, simply because they were polite.

We get Pho Soup there often. If you like spicy, I recommend this! Not only is it the best I have, the owners and staff are great!!!

Don’t eat a French Dip and a Turkey Club at an Asian Diner. (No offense, but it’s a little like ordering a burger at a great sushi place).
Eat the V.7, the [character set broken because of strange Vietnamese letters] Vermicelli bowl—never disappointing.
