Not quite a kebab, but still a good alternative.
Back in Oslo, lunch would more often than not mean a Turkish kebab from Malik’s. And it was good. Oh, it was good. Here in Spokane (or America for that matter) I have not been able to find anything identical to the kebab, and have instead had to substitute it with the gyro and the falafel. This is not a bad thing per se, and Azar’s certainly know how to deliver both. The gyro might not be quite in The Olympia’s league, but is still flavorful and fresh, and a good fast-food alternative to the almighty burger. Also worth checking out for a side dish is the lentil soup, though steer clear of the fries. They look and taste like they’ve been sitting in the fryer a few days too long.
Azar’s also has a hookah bar for anybody who wants to take smoking to the next level. I know absolutely nothing about this, except that some kids think they get high from it. They don’t. Hookah just contains tobacco. Anyway, it’s probably an exotic thing to try if you’re a smoker. I wonder if it will still be allowed under the new smoking law
I might still be searching for a good kebab, but Azar’s provides an excellent alternative with their gyro at least. Well worth a visit for a good meal made fast.

Azar’s is a Greek restaurant that is much more fast food then restaurant.
I’m not sure if this is intentional or just a result from a lack of ambition. But what I will say for sure is that Azar’s does make a few great items. The sides are pretty bland but I will get to them later.
The bright shining exception to Azar’s ho-hum menu is their gyro. It’s great and the portion is much better then the White House grill. The sides aren’t completely without charm but do lack that certain something that would make them memorable. The Greek salad was good but seemed a little less then fresh.
Now occasionally, you will see Azar’s at a local events at Riverfront Park. This may surprise you, but the gyros they serve our of the Azar’s trailer are better then their actual restaurant. So don’t keep walking stop, get in line, and pay up ($6)
So what’s the dish?: Post Falls is like 25 miles away so when that seems too far maybe Azar’s makes for a good option and if you find yourself in Riverfront Park and Azar’s happens to be there stop by. It is by far the best food you will find while at the park.

I wasn’t too impressed. I’ve been several times, but never walked away very happy. The side of rice and green beans always seems like they’ve been sitting in the pot for several days. I got a piece of pistachio baklava that was dried out. The main dishes are okay, but just never quite do it for me. The belly dancer is entertaining and the little kids who watch her and dance with her are always amusing as well. Not a bad place, but I wouldn’t rave about it to anyone. Personal preference.

We like to walk to Azar’s on occasional Friday nights for dinner and belly dancing entertainment. We usually order gyros and hummus…the kids get the grilled cheese. While it’s not the most exciting dinner ever, it’s not often we get to eat our dinner in peace while our 4 year old twins are mesmerized by a belly dancer.

I’ve been for lunch a few times. The falafel is good; the gyros is better. The side dishes, including what should be a simple dressed salad, were not so good. But I go there for the sandwiches anyway.
The baklava is hit and miss. One day the pistachio baklava was a tender, moist bite of heaven. The next time was dry and hard. There’s definitely some knack/skill to doing baklava right and even Azar’s doesn’t have it down pat.

My family is Lebanese just like the Azar’s. I’ve met Mr. Azar personally, in fact I played cards with him. Very nice family. They serve the best Syrian/middle eastern food in the area.
The price are great and it is great food.
Kefta is the best. You have to love lamb. Special order ask for it raw, the way Lebanese really eat it!

Yummy lunch buffet! The tzatziki sauce is fabulous! So is the Greek salad. A little pricey, but the service is good. Prompt soda refills.

This place is a waste of time and is not worth the money. I do not recommend this place at all!

Azar’s traveled from Spokane to Pullman for the glorious Lentil Fest. The gyros were full of tender juicy meat and the cucumber sauce was excellent. owever, I am use to having feta sprinkled throughout my gyro and was disappointed that they offered none. I couldn’t help but have one Friday night and Saturday afternoon!
