Yes :-) Jennifer's review (Apr 30th 2006)
Earth Day always seems like a day for a walk. Whether it’s a trip across Sandpoint’s Long Bridge, a stroll through Manito Park, or an urban hike around town, anything else just seems counterproductive. So despite Remi’s poor choice of footwear, we made the short trek from Browne’s Addition to Downtown and then up to Pioneer Park this afternoon. A stop at the newly reopened Namaska of course was mandatory.
Before relocating from Main Avenue this spring, Namaska completely remodeled a large street level space in the Minnesota Building. The East meets West tea and coffee cafe is both modern and relaxed. Local photographs wrap around the warmly painted orange interior walls while a tall bar separates the front tables and the rear counter. Hardwood floors run the length of the room. Books, compact discs, and trinkets leaning toward New Age are cleanly displayed for sale. The beverage choices at Namaska are unlike any I’ve seen in Spokane. Who knew so many tempting and delightful sounding drinks could be derived from tea? For coffee lovers, the choices are just as seductive. It was close, but an iced latte just barely beat out the blended green tea. The Mad Batter baked goods aren’t bad either. Almost made Remi forget about the walk. This Bean Scene post is part of an ongoing series.
