Yes :-) Jennifer's review (Apr 30th 2006)
Sometimes all it takes is an email. A little reminder whispered in my ear. A two inch advertisement in the newspaper. A small nudge to help me remember some of my favorite old coffee haunts still flourish.
Certainly this is the case with downtown Coeur d’Alene’s Cafe DOMA. With time and a move, I had forgotten the forlorn teenager working the corner gelato cart, the velvety espresso blend, and the obliging and accessible baristas behind the counter. On a street paved with tourists, Cafe DOMA is a welcomed quixotic refuge.Even at 6:30 on a brisk February morning, Cafe DOMA was full of life and energy. A yupster on his laptop diligently attacked cake with a fork. Three middle aged friends gathered at a street side table, laughing and gossiping between sips. And an excited murmur from the back of the house signaled the arrival of a new day. Two poised young ladies whipped together my skim milk latte with impeccable teamwork and speed, all the while pleasantly talking up the gigantic kitchen-sink cookies so rich they don’t make their debut until after the noon rush.
Cafe DOMA boasts a full lunch menu in addition to the tempting sweets. Not hungry? T-shirts and handmade greeting cards from CDA’s School Indigo are also available. While sipping a cappuccino on the way out, visit the community bulletin board for upcoming events, interesting businesses, and quirky listings.
Cafe DOMA is a gem. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes :-) Serena's review (May 7th 2006)
Our family has had breakfast at Cafe Doma a couple of times and it’s always been great. Our sons love the potatoes and whole wheat pancakes, and my husband swears Doma has some of the best coffee he’s ever had.
No :-( Ray's review (Jul 3rd 2006)
Now, I can’t complain about the coffee. I think it is the best in the region, by far. But when my wife & I went during the first July weekend, we were somewhat rushed by the staff so they could serve the lunch crowd. Actually, we were discouraged from sitting down inside the cafe since we were “only” having drinks. That was a radical change from our past visits. We ended up on a bench across the street, very disappointed.
The coffee is still the best. But Cafe Doma is no longer a refuge. It’s just another restaurant. I’ve heard good things about the food. Maybe I should try it, so we can get better service.
