I love this place. It’s awesome and I would recomend it to everyone. I am a Christian and I do want a side of God with my coffee. I have noticed that it’s always filled with young people doing home work and just people getting together to visit. It feels very up beat to me and the people we have met there are great. My husband also loves it and made the comment that maybe this will be where he brings his work.
Service Station is basically a giant Starbucks. Free Wifi, great decor, a fireplace, typical (good) coffees and drinks, and tons of inside and patio seating. Live jazz on weekend nights, and concerts on a regular basis.
ANYONE would be completely welcome and comfortable at the Service Station.
I see very professional and courteous service, excellent espresso, and the key here is that the straight espresso is complex and smooth, not bitter, try that test at your fav spot and see how it stacks up. So if you want top notch coffee that benefits the coffee growers in Ethiopia, not corporate big-wigs, try The Service Station. It will become your favorite spot as it has become mine.
I’ve stopped in several times over the past year or so and always had great coffee. I love the relaxing atmosphere-it’s a nice break in a busy day.
I do meet there as my friend lives close, and despite working in the human services, like knowing my coffee dollar helps. BUT, I absolutely do not recommend the coffee (very blah), the iced latte despite flavoring is tasteless, and minimal food/snack choices, particularly for those with food sensitivities.
I am a Christian, but I don’t feel the need to have God shoved down my throat along with the mediocre coffee they serve. This is like an espresso cart located in the foyer of a big box church. If the coffee were decent, I might make the effort. No thanks.
I just experienced Service Station coffee for the first time the other day, I am not a christian, and I also did not get the impression that this had any religious ties. If nice people making coffee is such a religious thing to do, maybe we should all become more “religious”
The one complaint or downfall of the venue is the noise level when it started to fill up.
My wife called me on my way home the other day and asked me to bring her a coffee drink, coincidentally I was passing by The Service Station so I pulled in. The only reason I am writing this review is because I could not believe what others had posted.
I left with a coffee / tea and a bagel in hand , the place was busy, clean, great decor, good service and I loved the couches and fire place setting, it was a place that I might just go back and I have never been attracted to coffee houses.
The one thing that I did not get and was surprised to see hear was that this was some sort of Christian organization. No crosses or fishes on the wall, nobody was preaching to approaching you with the gospel and no tracts or stories were handed to you with your order.
So if I didn’t know it was a ‘Christian’ coffee house when I walked in and still didn’t know it was one when I left, just how are they shoving God in your face?
I suggest you go their for the ambiance, I, Mr. Non-coffee-drinker, might even go back.
I’m pretty much a militant atheist and I like this place very much. The atmosphere is very comfortable, the Wi-Fi is appreciated, the kids working there are always professional, the baked goods are great and the coffee is above average.
