My research is fairly limited and highly unscientific, but I’m pretty sure Spokane International Airport is the only midsize commercial airport in the country without a Starbucks. Not that I’d buy my coffee there, but it is interesting nonetheless. Remi tells me the time will come. Probably sooner than later. I only wonder if I’ll still be able to check-in, clear security, and make it to the gate in less than fifteen minutes when Fourbucks opens up shop.

Until the disastrous day the green mermaid comes to terminals A, B, and C, the no-name coffee stand serving Cravens Coffee just past security is the best bet. A little heavy on the milk and flavoring, the lattes aren’t anything to write home about. But when sleepy and in need of a warm pick-me up they taste like liquid gold.This post is part of the Spokane Bean Scene series.

The airport remodel filled the small food court and open stores with several local business. The prices are high but that is to be expected in any airport. It reminds me of a very very very small version of the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.
