Where’d all the foam go? Honestly, this picture was taken less than fifteen seconds after the overly perky barista at Jacob’s Java on Sullivan handed me my hazelnut latte this morning. I don’t think it was ever there! Sadly, as of late, Jacob’s been sacrificing speed for quality.
I started to worry about Spokane’s favorite drive-through a few months ago. Seems as the morning lines for coffee back up onto Sullivan, Washington, and Market, Jacob’s responds to the demand by prepping warm milk and pulling shots before the cars arrive. A month ago I had a latte delivered to my cold hands in under twenty seconds. I should have questioned it, but like the other commuters I was in a hurry and needed to go. Honestly, from an economic stance who could blame them, but speed and convenience does not produce a quality cup of Joe.

I am a very loyal person, and since I know the Jacob family personally, I naturally gravitated to their espresso stands. I have tried different stands, and different drinks; but their drinks have always lacked something…I’m not a coffee connesouir(sp) so I can’t put my finger on it..but whatever is missing; I’ve found it at Walnut Street Perk, right behind the Global Credit Union drive~in on Second Avenue. (lower South Hill) Now, they make a good Breve’!

We don’t go to McD’s for filet mignon…we go for speed and convenience. I am not saying that Jacobs does not have quality..they do..but service and speed are expected and delivered at all locations.

I started working in the Valley early this year and began getting coffee at the Jacob’s on Sullivan. I’ve never had coffee at the Jacob’s in Spokane but used to frequent the one in Cheney while in college. I have to say… after leaving three times with the wrong drink and numerous other attempts at a decent latte, I won’t go back.
If you want a good cup of coffee make the drive to the Cheney Jacob’s!

As a coffee lover, i have gone to many coffee stands. I have experienced many terrible lattes, way too sweet, or watery shots. Jacob’s has the best consistency I have experienced, and after the second time i got my coffee at the downtown location, they had already memorized my drink. Conversation is always really good with the down to earth, non-pushy people that work there. HIGHLY recommended!!!

I go to school at Lewis and Clark which is located right below the downtown Jacob’s and I frequently enjoy a Jet Tea smoothie or iced mocha from there. I have found the people to be extremely kind and willing to accept changes with a smile. I have found it to be extremely consistent and above par and I continue to visit daily. My one piece of advice is to avoid it between the hours of 7:00 and 9 because this is when it is extremely busy!

I have lived in the apartment complex across the street from Jacob’s Java for about 4 years now.
MY DRINK OF CHOICE: 16oz Triple Vanilla Mocha Breve
The downtown Jacob’s is by far one of the best local places to get your Java. I have gone to pretty much ALL of Spokane’s local coffee huts/shops/houses and there are only a select few that taste nearly as good as Jacob’s. I refuse to support corporate establishments, so I am not including the over-priced $tarbuck$, etc in my comparison.
I’m from Portland, where good local espresso drinks were born (sorry Seattle) and I can confidently say that the downtown Jacob’s is above par.

The BEST coffee! A few years ago I was a fan of Buzzies (in the Valley), but later tried Jacobs when I started going to Lewis & Clark. I now live out of state and the first thing I do after I get picked up at the airport is get a Jacobs Java coffee! I love their white coffee, too. Give it a try if you’ve never had it and want to try something new. Way to go Jacobs! Keep it up!

I have been a faithful customer of Jacob’s since they opened, and I am never disappointed

I roll out of bed and into the line at jacobs java (6th and Washington) Downtown where I have yet to be disapointed, they are ALWAYS friendly and the most important part is the unmatched qulity of their coffee! I would recommend that even if you live on the north side MAKE tha dive for a great cup of Joe!!

A girl (Chelsea I think?) working at Jacob’s Java is constantly on my brothers mind. I’m sure he could care less about the quality of the coffee. He just has a thing for this chick. He needs to move on and realize he can do way better. He’s super handsome, tall (6’4), smart and sweet and needs someone who recognizes that. He’ll wake up sooner or later. Anyways..the coffee is pretty good though from what I remember.
