Located in the Liberty Lake Farmer’s Market on Saturdays is Jalapeno Jeaven and its jovial owner, Lenny. I stopped by early (if 9am is indeed early) in the morning, when I was decidedly ready for the “HOT!” breakfast burrito. And it was hot. And good.

Now while Jalapeno Jeaven does claim to be “authentic Mexican,” the food that is served is decidedly north of the border, both in size and style. This is not somewhere you would go for a true Mexican taco (there’s Tacos Tumbras for that). If that is not offensive to you, then the burrito will probably make for a good breakfast. I mean, this is a hot meal, and it will likely wake you up pretty rapidly.

Jalapeno Jeaven is good eats for anybody who’s not a purist.

Lenny gets my vote! He’s also at Moran Prairie Farmer’s Market on Sundays through the summer and over on South Perry much of the regular week. His latest – carnitas burrito – is excellent!
