Yes :-) Stefan's review (May 25th 2006)

So for all my years in Spokane I?ve never had a sandwich from Domini. Some would consider that a tragedy on the scale of the Hindenburg (too soon?). Domini?s seems to be a hit with the bank employee crowd. The Inlander missed the mark my voting it as the best sandwich in Spokane. I think the Park Inn serves a much better sandwich.
Some people love the basic sandwich (meat and cheese) but I think the devil is in the details.

I was a little disappointed. I had in mind a sandwich with some tomato or at least some lettuce but what I got was a sandwich that was almost six inches tall. Ham made up about one third of that.

I was still very happy with the sandwich and even though I hate popcorn I like that it was included.

At around eight dollars for a sandwich and no drink I think it?s a skosh spendy. Bring cash as Domini does not accept Debit Cards, Credit Cards or Checks.

So what?s the dish?: Looking for a basic sandwich downtown? Domini is the place to be but if you?ve got a few minutes drive up to the Park Inn you won?t be sorry.

Yes :-) Mary Harvill's review (Jan 7th 2007)

A sandwich from Domini’s is a uniquely Spokane experience meaning that it is what it is. If you want a deli style sandwich with lots of vegetables, this is not the place for you.

A small sandwich is enough for two meals and the popcorn is the BEST! Plus, if you like Thuringer, you can find it at Domini’s.

Yes! Thuringer rules! Although an inch thick stack of it on my sandwich makes my circulation about as efficient as a Seattle rush hour. I go with turkey and a slightly cleaner conscience.

I’m writing just to say how cool the owners/operators are. Sure they close the whole place down when they go on vacation, but that’s merely testament to our loyalty to their old-fashioned business practices that have proven successful for decades. I once came up a few dimes short on my lunch but was given the friendly “don’t worry about it” and was on my way. Try that at a franchise. OK, so the cash only policy requires some advanced planning, but in this burg, where there’s a payday loan place on every third corner and the pawn shops can afford a barrage of embarrassingly bad TV ads, who can blame them for not taking checks? And plastic? Did I mention they’re old fashioned?

Meat! Bread! in a sack!

If that is what your heart beats for lunch, and what Spokanite has not that need, this is the place. Sub shops come and go, taco trucks park and move on, and you, the well traveled, may have been from knish to felafel and back. In the end, there is but one thing to say with a mouth full of salty popcorn:

domini, domini, domini.
