My husband would eat their chicken fried steak everyday if he could. We’ve eaten there several times and the service has always been good. They are very welcoming to children and to diners who want substitutions. I am a fan of the cinnamon french toast and the hashbrowns. Stay away from the spinach scramble, runny and bland. And if you like breakfast late in the morning, be prepared to wait, the place is small and popular

It seems to me that the only reason Franks is popular is because of its location and its “atmosphere.” The food is poor diner food; hash browns come frozen, cheap white bread with no sticking power, and the burgers are overcooked. It’s basically really cheap food that cost more than it should. There are several great breakfast places in town, this is not one of them.

I like the atmosphere and staff at both locations. The food is pretty good. I usually get the biscuits and gravy, my favorite breakfast. My friends also enjoyed the experience.

I have been going to Frank’s for years. They are ALWAYS friendly, happy to change anything to your taste and willing to correct mistakes without questions. My kids love the train setting and always are treated great. And when people say that they have the best breakfast in town it’s true.

This place was great! Great atmosphere, friendly service, and great food. I was here for breakfast with friends from out of town and we all loved it. The portions are huge so come hungry! I will definitely go back again!

Yes :-) Allie's review (Sep 7th 2008)

I have only been to the downtown location, but I have been there many times and always had tasty breakfasts. The portions are ridiculously huge, but I love to go there for a comfort food breakfast.

Frank’s Diner is a testament to the bad tastes of many Inland NWers. Voted best breakfast place in Spokane for years and years? Come on.

I give points for the fact that you can get brown gravy on your hashbrowns for free. That’s worth something.

That is about all I can find that is special about it. The food is standard breakfast grub that I could make at home for cheaper and quicker than here. The Eggs Benedict (my standard for greatness at diners) is the same quality as at Olde European, Dolly’s, or even Shari’s. Not worth the price.

Frank’s Diner is frankly mediocre at best.
