If you were lucky enough to see Mozart and the Whale you would have had to see the some great Spokane centric product placement. Pizza Rita was featured in the background of a few shots in the movie. I think they even received a Special Thanks.

So lets talk pizza. My pizza tastes waver often. Most of the time I enjoy a thick crust with a good sauce to cheese ratio (I’m like a modern day Goldilocks minus the bears). But sometimes I’m looking for that big piece of pizza that you have to fold in half. Not often, but sometimes I want that super greasy, fast food, style pizza.

Pizza Rita falls between the fast food style of pizza and the pizza you have to fold over to eat. Don’t go asking for artichoke hearts or sun-dried tomatoes. What you will find is pretty standard pizza fare.

So what’s the dish?: Pizza Rita serves a pizza that is on par with the big chains. So why not support local businesses rather then some huge chain?

Pizza Rita has great sauce and the ingredients are well proportioned. Unlike most chain stores with bland sauce, little cheese and minimal toppings. They also take competitor coupons, although usually their take-out or dine-in prices are better than the other guys advertise.

Pizza Rita is the worst non-sit-down pizza I have ever had. It’s very inexpensive and you get what you pay for! The crust tastes like it is made from bisquick. It’s disgusting. I know they’re local and small and I would love to support them, but I think they’re gross. Great price for college students, though!
