I’ve complained about the coffee situation in Spokane’s U-District for years. I doubt there is a person around who hasn’t heard me rant about Hamilton’s lack of coffee spots or dream about opening my very own student-centered bakery and coffeehouse. I mean come on. There’s the Starbucks near David’s Pizza, the Starbucks in Safeway, and the Crosby Center push button coffee. Maybe I’m missing something, but by the number of telltale white and green cups dumped in the garbage, I don’t think so.

That being said, the Supreme Bean coffee shack is probably the best bet in the area. It’s a bit of a drive, but the coffee is decent. Not spectacular, but sure better than other options. It’s quick, but not too quick, and the staff is nice enough. Way too many “We serve our coffee at 165 degrees” signs cover the building, but I can ignore them.

But honestly, if you’ve got the capital, let me open and run your U-District coffeehouse. How could we not be successful?
