Don’t go to Bennidito’s expecting authentic Italian thin-crust pizza. Do, however, expect classy thick American style pies, with lovely fresh toppings. Take the Italian Beef Primo for example; a nicely spiced pizza. Not too hot, but just right for this type of pie, with its white sauce and soft crust.
The garlic bread and bread sticks are both meals in themselves, and for $3 each, you can’t find a much better deal in town.
Bennidito’s, then, make a pretty standard American pizza, but they do it better than anybody else in town.
Highly recommended.
Are you kidding me? There isn’t a pizza in town that can touch the pies at Bennidito’s. The calzones are even better. My fave is the Chicken Calzone that has as much roasted garlic cloves as it does chicken. If you consider yourself a garlic lover, this baby is your new fling.
This magnificient pie purveyor is on the top of my list of what I miss most about Spokaloo!
Along with Luna, Mizuna, my dear friends and Nordstrom…
The pizza was great, we had the High Drive. It has tons of prosciutto and red onions. Good crust, complete with authentic burnt bubbles. The service is casual but attentive it is a great atmosphere as long as you can deal with a busy and sometimes crowded space. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for quality pie.
Bennidito’s Pizza is amazing! My favorite menu item has to be the beer buddies – at less than $3 they are a great appetizer (or meal!). Mini breadsticks drizzled with butter and coated with parmesean cheese then dipped in pizza or creamy pesto sauce, it doesn’t get any better than this.
Beer Buddies for $2.50 and a bucket of PBR’s for $5.00 might be the best one-two combo in town. The pizza and calzones make great leftover because their too large to finish in one sitting.
This is on the Indian Trail location. We have gone here like twenty times to enjoy their great pizza, calzones, great beer selection and awesome salads. It is only 1/2 mile from our house and very easy for us. The biggest concern is the lack of waitstaff. Last night there was one person waiting for the whole restaurant. He was also bartending and cleaning tables. We sat and watched as several people walked out because of the limited service. We had to ask several times for our beer and we were lucky to have called ahead to order our pizza. Our salad order was never put in, but on our bill. This is typical of our service over the past five trips, this being the worst. The server could have been the best on the planet but due to the sheer volume of customers he was doing his best. If the food wasn’t great we would pass due to the lack of service. I hope they would get their staffing correct because it is a great neighborhood place.
Small and very hot inside! Avoid!
The pizza is ABSOLUTELY wonderful. Good beer selection. Loved the appetizers, beer buddies. Very laid back place to eat. Best pizza in Spokane. I highly recommend the Maui Wowie pizza.
I can’t decide which Bennidito’s pizza I like best. I love that their sausage is sliced links, not ground. I love the Margarita. I love the Maui Wowie. I love the crust, even when it is almost burned. I do wish they spelled my name correctly on my delivery label. :-)
Don’t forget the salads man..! Loaded with goodies, and variety. Share a big bowl and a beer(s) and you’ll be good to go.
We recently had Bennidito’s (Indian Trail) for our rehearsal dinner and I must say that the food was better than most nice sit down restaurants in Spokane for a fraction of the price. Also, the service was extremely fast and efficient. I called ahead for seven pizzas and they had them all hot and ready on a busy Friday night and was in and out of the store in about 5 minutes. Well done Bennidito’s!!
We ordered delivery from Bennidito’s South Hill the other night. We had heard good things from people so decided to give it a try. It was GREAT! We ordered half margarita/ half pepperoni. My fiance and I just moved from Seattle and it’s better than any pizza we had out there. In fact, my fiance said it might have been the best pizza he has ever had! The delivery was a little slow (but they told us on the phone it would take awhile…and we heard from others it’s better to carry-out as they only have one delivery driver) but the pizza showed up hot and we will definitely order again!
I complained to the cook / lead worker Aug. 23rd at 6pm. Restaurant was not busy nor was it slow. ( maybe 6 tables were occupied: 2 to 6 people at each table). Informed him that “this was the worst customer service I ever experienced”. He asked me what was wrong. I informed him, He asked me if the food was good. I replied “yes it always is”. He said “then don’t come back”. A 10 inch pizza and a sandwich took about 70 minutes to get to the table. And the cook forgot to put cheese on the Italian sandwich. But hey he offered to make a new one or would knock 3 dollars off. Not going to wait another hour sorry. The people behind us ordered 2 minutes after we did and got their food as we were leaving. I was a many many time repeat customer and have ordered delivery from this place as the food is very good. But as the representative / cook of the restaurant stated , (after I told him the service was terrible today ) don’t come back, well I won’t. My loss and yours.
What a great local pizza joint. The double pepperoni is my favorite. I had never heard of a beer buddies tell I came to Bennidito’s and I don’t think I’ll ever forget them after having them for the first time. All I have to say is $3 beer buddies and $6 buckets of PBR in the bottle. Great place
Wow! The best calzone I have had in a long time. Great food, great atmosphere (S. Hill on Lincoln), and a great staff!!!! Loved this place. And loved that I have leftovers to do it all again the next day. :)
The food and service here can occasionally be very good. It’s been hit and miss for me. The last pizza I ordered for take-out was, quite frankly, awful. How about some toppings? How about some actual flavor? Great for people who like all-crust pizzas, I guess.
Good pizza if you dine in, below average both times I’ve had it delivered. Their salads are actually quite good also but the best Bennidito’s has to offer is their beer selection. They always have interesting micros on tap—Stone, Avery, seasonal Deschutes, Laughing Dog, Northern Lights, etc. If you’re looking for good pie and a great pint, you won’t be disappointed.
Benniditio’s is loved by the Spokane crowd; they even won the Inlander’s Best Pizza award this year. So we decided that we would stroll around Manito Park and then try them out for a casual pizza dinner.
We started off with the much raved about beer buddies – plain pizza dough cut into small bite-sized sections, brushed with butter (I was told it was olive oil, but we all agreed that it was butter, there were butter fat solids plainly vissible) and topped with commercial parmesan cheese (think Kraft in a can cheese). The concept is good; but the dough, the highlight of the appetizer was tasteless. We had 2 hungry teenagers and two adults present when this appetizer arrived, it did not get finished, we each ate about 1 or 2 and kind of shrugged our shoulders. The only flavor outside of fat, and salt from the commercial cheese came from the sauces. We figured they were called beer buddies because after about 5 beers you just don’t care what you eat.
For dinner we had one salad two medium pizzas, one calzone and a salad.
We will start off with the extreme culinary disaster – the calzone was the worst calzone everyone at the table had ever had. That’s bad. It was made horribly and looked terrible, overcooked crust, paper thin on the top while soggy and undercooked on the bottom. The appearance of it was a turnoff, but looks can be deceiving. In this case though, they weren’t. The flavors inside were just off, we all tried one bite and we all pushed it to the back of the table – YUCK.
The pizza that I and the oldest teenager were eagerly awaiting for was the Benniditos original pesto. I am a pesto fanatic, many times just eating my home-made pesto on crackers for a snack. Ever have basil ice cream – yum I love it. I make pesto pizzas all the time at home, pure delight. But what arrived at our table resembled more like the Exxon Valdez oil tanker disaster. My wife’s comment was “That’s sick, you guys aren’t going to eat that are you?”
The pesto they used appeared to be mostly oil so the whole pie was covered in a layer of unappetizing green olive oil, when we removed the first slice it was like breaking a dam. The oil came cascading off the pizza to fill the now vacant slice area. It took about 12-15 napkins to soak up half the oil but the damage had been done because the bottom of the pizza crust had soaked up the other half.
The excessive oil had ruined this pie, it wasn’t finished by us, you could only take 1 or 2 slices of this heart attack on a plate pie, however it had potential, I liked the addition of the ricotta cheese on it although nobody could pick out the flavor of fontina, I think the oil and pest overpowered it.
The only pizza that got devoured was the mowie wowie, in this case the fontina cheese was very prevalent and a great addition, I also make my Hawaiian style pizza with prosciutto, the saltiness of the ham compliments the sweetness of the pineapple very well. The only problem with this pizza was the tasteless dough that had a large amount of raw flour caked onto the bottom. When we were there all pizzas were rolled and but not hand tossed. Hand tossing helps to knock off any excess flour, then the oven floor should be dusted with cornmeal to prevent sticking in the oven, there was no cornmeal evident on our pizzas, hence why they use the flour, but that is wrong.
The highlight of the meal was the salad, which was a good size and value for the money. Lots of fresh greens and toppings and they did have a nice selection of beer on tap. And a special shout out does go to the server there, they were very busy while we were there and she was handling the whole restaurant by herself and doing a great job.
In the end we left with an uneaten calzone, some beer buddies and half of a medium pesto pizza, we stopped by an ice cream store for dessert and when we got home the boys cooked themselves some more dinner.
The moral of the story is, if pizza and calzones go uneaten by teenagers you know you have problems.
PS If you ever find you self up on the north side and hankering for some pizza, try Fat Daddy’s, best pizza in Spokane.
Service is unprofessional pretty much every time I have gone to the South Hill location. Seems like a fraternity/sorority staff to me. My husband & I wanted to check out the northside location, went there at 6PM on a Sunday night AND THEY WERE CLOSED!!! No note of explanation on the door, nothing! Not sure if it’s the economy or what, but the other pizza place next door (name escapes me) was closed too!! Both had hours on their doors saying they were open Sunday nights. Hmmm… Think I’ll move on to a much better pizza place, Rocky Rococco
