Yes :-) Jennifer's review (Aug 12th 2006)

On quiet Friday mornings, the corner coffee shop is usually the only business hopping on Sherman Avenue. It is Coeur d Alene’s melting pot: Locals and tourists, young and old, blue and red. People mingle together and visit over signature bowls of soul. Some mornings the line for coffee snakes out the front door and wraps around several sidewalk wrought iron tables. Seats inside are scarce, but patrons still come to share newspapers and swap tall tales.

Java serves several savory egg dishes, but I’m partial to the baked goods. The giant raspberry scones, made with rich yellow eggs and plenty of butter, last all day. I never pass up a great bowl of oatmeal and Java’s hot cereal is warm and delicious, especially when the chill sets in. And the coffee? DOMA’s Vito blend. My absolute favorite and what we drink at home. A small cappuccino at Java is a treat.

A bowl of soul and a huge chocolate chip cookie are the perfect winter morning (or really anytime) treat! Though, they have a full menu of other handcrafted foods, breakfast or lunch!

Yes :-) RH's review (May 9th 2007)

The bowl of soul is the closest thing to nirvana that you will find in the Idaho panhandle. The coffee/chocolate combo is thick and rich, and the whipped cream topping it off is no fluffy Reddi-whip concoction, but a scoop of hand-whipped cream, solid, dense and scraped off into the bowl. I will definitely be back for more.

No :-( Sara's review (May 13th 2007)

When Cafe DOMA is right across the street, I’d much rather go there. It’s not that the coffee was bad or anything here, it’s fine. But as someone who has to pay for soy milk, I did not like having to pay 75 cents extra for it at Java on Sherman. Most places, it’s in the range of 25-50 cents.

That being said, my daughter and husband have enjoyed the cookies from here, and I supposed I would say “Yes” to this place if not for the soy milk issue, but it’s worth noting.
