Yes :-) Jennifer's review (Nov 1st 2006)
The espresso martini just sounded so good. I’d been pondering the idea of espresso and chocolate and liquor since spotting a Kathy Casey recipe in the Seattle Times earlier this week. Prago’s version sounded just as promising – Kahlua, Irish cream, vodka, and two delicious shots of DOMA espresso. Did I mention the whipped cream?
Now, like tapas, the word martini has been overgeneralized beyond recognition. Prago’s coffee cocktail didn’t even come in a martini glass and to my absolute surprise it was served hot. I completely expected a chilled drink. Here, martini is honestly a misnomer. This was a sit-by-the-fireplace-in-the-ski-lodge kind of drink. Not a nonchalant, be-cool-at-the-bar kind of drink.
Nonetheless, it was pretty damn good. Just a little pricey at twelve dollars.

I’ve been to Prago probably 4 times since it has opened. They have a small, but favorable selection of wines. The Argentinian Malbecs are particulalry delicious. The appetizers are simple but generous in portions. My only concern is that I have noticed the same meal served differently depending on who is working. The wine glass portions can vary too, but remember, Prago is a new place and has just hired new staff. I love the decor and will return.

The Decor/Atmosphere: Dark, intimate, and comfortable. I really enjoyed the way they had this rather small space laid out. Couches and chairs in the front, small tables parallel to the bar and one couch in the back. All dark wood and either red or muted lighting. The ceiling was textured dark brown as well. Wall art well, that has a lot to do with
The Music: I’m sure most of the time the music at Prago fits the atmosphere. I was there when they were supposed to be having a live artist who never did show. However, since it’s February, someone at Prago decided they would have a Johnny Cash celebratory MONTH. The music was too loud, and all bad second-rate remixes or covers of Johnny Cash. Please, people, an Argentinian Cafe would NOT have an ENTIRE FREAKING MONTH of tribute to the man in black. The music is eventually what drove us out of the place. It could have just been the fill-in DJ, or it could have been the norm. I’m going back when February is over.
The Prices: The special martini of the night set me back $6 (prices ranged up to $12). It was a relatively small martini glass, although to their credit it was potent-but-not burned. A glass of wine was also $6. Not Wednesday-night cheap, but doable on a weekend if you wanted to have A drink, no more.
The Final Say: The bartenders/waiters are attentive. I’m willing to try the place again, because I love the decor and feel- but after the Johnny Cash tribute is over. It would be a great place for a first date, because they do offer a decent menu of food, but just a drink is just as acceptable, if a little expensive.

I went here expecting more of a place to eat ethnic food, but the food list is pretty minimal but good. We had panini and a salad which were great, but would be more in line for lunch and not dinner. The ambiance is awesome and a great place for drinks, but I didn’t get a real Argentine feel.
Also, for the beer snobs, they have PBR on tap and they sometimes runs beer specials for the low budget drinker.
We were there at 7:00pm on a Saturday and the place was almost empty. So my guess is things tend to fire up later when the music starts. Overall, good feel and I would definitely go there for lunch for the sandwiches.

I guess the operative word here is CAFE. I assumed from reading the posts here that it was a restaurant. Assumed wrong. Went there for Valentine’s dinner-when in fact there was no dinner pretty much at all. Bummer. Especially since by that time all the restaurants were packed and we went to The Onion for Valentine’s—with all of the 10th graders.
On the other hand, Prago had a quartet who knew what they were doing. Also the atmosphere is to die for. Except if you get “stuck” in the balcony—no chance of getting in or out. The food we got was something I could have made with a little bit of supplies from Costco. I was disappointed but that’s just because I assumed. In fact, I said to the waitress, “Is there more to the menu?” and she said, “No, it seems that everyone thinks we have a full kitchen and we don’t.” So, obviously I’m not the only one.
The drinks were great-very good unique martini-but I’m not sure where the Argentinan theme comes from.
By the way I will go back.

I went to Prago for my sister’s birthday party. We all had a great time, the staff was courteous to our table even though we took up the entire balcony! By the way, the balcony was a little difficult for us to maneuver out of. We were there on a Friday and they had a dj that was really good, not sure if that is a regular thing there but it definitely fit the atmosphere. I don’t drink, so I was happy to see the espresso machine and I got a latte. Overall I recommend it to my friends if they want to avoid all the other dive-y bars when they’re on that side of town. A nice addition to Spokane.

I loved the whole idea of exhibiting a local kid’s Johnny Cash vinyl collection along with some very interesting, if not scarce, items of memorabilia…the Wall of Cash was a thing of beauty and the opening party was good fun and loved the DJ that spun Johnny Cash vinyl all night long. that was cool…definitely, go to Prago if you like an alternative space and a good eclectic mix of music and people…BRAVO!
No :-( Dave's review (Apr 5th 2007)
After visiting this establishment at least five times with friends or family I am dissatisfied. Like Sharon said previously, the servings were different every time and many times, I was served the wrong order.
Walking in off the street from work, I felt looked down on as to how I was dressed. When looking through the drink selection, it was extremely higher then what many other dives are asking and how those were served was different each time. The most recent was just about a week ago.
The feeling of the place is elegant. I was told that a number of things hanging from the walls or on shelves were from Argentina. They seemed to put some time and money into starting this up.
Overall this didn’t give me a feel of Argentina. They didn’t even have asado.

Loved the atmosphere. Early in the evening it is more intimate, good food and friends, and later the Djs rocked the house with deep house techno. Very very fun. I’ll be back as soon as I can.

I stopped in at Prago for a glass of wine one night and had a pleasant experience. Didn’t have any food but the place was very cool and cozy. If you want a nice red wine, get the Malbec.
